McMillan Farms Corn Maze & Pumpkin Patch Review

McMillan Farms is one of the most popular places in Kelowna for family friendly, Halloween fun. Boasting a 3 acre corn maze, petting farm, hay rides, and more, it’s a great place to go pick out a pumpkin…but it comes at a price. To see the fun times we had in the McMillan Farms Corn Maze, check out the video below, or for our Konkin Can Do Candid Review, keep reading.

First thing’s first, this place is a ton of fun! It is super close to the core of Kelowna and has an educational vibe (I’m always up for anything that gets kids outside and learning). If you are here to experience the whole farm (hay ride, corn maze, petting farm, sling shot, photos and picking a pumpkin), plan for about two hours, but keep in mind the bathrooms are Port-a-Potties.

Although this is a great activity for the whole family, it can be expensive if you’re not careful.

5 Pumpkins for $43

While parking and entry into the farm is free, all the activities require cash (or credit card). Rightfully so considering all the work that is put into the place. The corn maze cost us $3 each which was well worth it. It took us about 20-30 minutes to complete it. The slingshots were very expensive, so we skipped that. They do have a $30 flat rate for a
family of 5 to do the maze, hay ride and slingshots, which isn’t too shabby, but if you plan on having your kids pick a pumpkin, well, this is where things could get really pricey.

They have some amazing pumpkins in a wide range of shapes and sizes, but signage for the price of pumpkins is pretty limited and misleading. We picked one extra large pumpkin, one large white pumpkin and three large pumpkins…but two of the pumpkins we deemed to be ‘large’ were charged as extra large (which was $10 each instead of $6).

The deformed pumpkin from the $2 bin.

We also picked a pumpkin from a $2 bin full of small & deformed pumpkins. When we brought it to the till, the girl wanted to charge us for two pumpkins, but when we pointed out that it was actually one, she pretended to laugh and insisted it was two, so we decided against it.

All in all, we highly recommend it. We rated it a 7.5/10 but would have rated it an 8.5 or higher if pricing for the pumpkins had been more up front/accurate. The corn maze is so much fun and was a very reasonable price and shouldn’t be missed! For more information on their hours of operation and prices, visit their website: http://www.mcmillanfarms.ca
